Kathy Boockvar recently appeared on Matter of Fact with Soledad O’Brien discussing what happens after the polls close on Election Day, the process to certify the results of the election, and the likelihood and consequences of challenges or delays.
Boockvar emphasized the bipartisanship of election officials and how they ensure the integrity of the process through audits, security measures, legal frameworks, and transparency. She underscored the commitment by election authorities to protect our ability to have our votes counted even in the face of subversive efforts by extremists.
Boockvar called on our “candidates and our elected officials to lower the temperature. We all can have faith in the immense amount of security and integrity that goes into our elections. And we need to trust that even if in November a result happens that we don’t like, it’s the will of the people, and that’s how our democracy works.”
