Kathy Boockvar was pleased to help plan, organize, and serve as a moderator and panelist in the 2026 Election Law continuing legal education (CLE) course, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Bar Institute (PBI). The program included an all-star faculty of leading national and state election experts, and was approximately the 6th consecutive year that Boockvar has participated in the course. The 2026 CLE included 2 panels, one focused on rapidly shifting federal updates, and the other spotlighting key developments in Pennsylvania, as we approach the 2026 midterms. The federal panel covered a wide range of issues and related litigation including federal executive orders, Election Assistance Commission activity, mid-decade redistricting, timing of mail ballot delivery, the Voting Rights Act, and more. The state panel addressed recent state court rulings on ballot access, mail-in and provisional ballots, proposed legislative reforms, evolving procedures for resolving election disputes, and legislative history and reforms.
Together, these sessions provided a practical, up-to-date overview of the legal and policy trends likely to influence how Americans—and Pennsylvanians in particular—vote during the 2026 election cycle.
