2025 Local Election Officials Survey Reveals Persistent Challenges

According to the latest Local Election Officials Survey from the Brennan Center for Justice, 60 percent of local election officials are concerned about the federal cuts to election security services, which include reductions and elimination of services, tools, and information previously provided by federal agencies. Nearly 90% of election officials say they are now in even greater need of more resources from state and local government. The survey also cites significant concerns about political interference in election administration, as well as continued threats, intimidation, and harassment.
