Risk limiting and other post-election audits
A risk-limiting post-election audit helps confirm that the election outcome is correct and that the voting equipment and procedures used to count votes worked properly. These audits entail human hand/eye examination of a random sample of paper ballots, and a comparison of the votes on these ballots to the results produced by the vote tabulators.
