Threats and Harassment in Local Government: Benchmarking Report

Princeton University’s Bridging Divides Initiative and CivicPulse released their quarterly benchmarking report in Nov. 2023, offering survey results from local election officials on their experience with and concerns about threats and demographic differences among those reporting. The report found that there is an increase in the harassment of local officials across party lines, and many election officials are concerned with the current state of threats to our democracy.
