Despite Trump’s Claim, No Ballots Have Been Found Fraudulent in Lancaster County

Kathy Boockvar recently spoke with the New York Times about the announcement by several Pennsylvania counties that suspicious voter registration forms – not ballots – had been submitted to several election offices right before the voter registration deadline. Investigations were being conducted by both county officials as well as the state attorney general.  

Boockvar explained that it is unfortunately not unusual for paid canvassers to turn in error-ridden voter registration forms, whether it be due to deadline pressures, financial incentives, or deficiencies in quality control and employee oversight. She also emphasized that all the safeguards in place are what flagged these forms to begin with, and that additional guardrails and security processes are carried out to make sure that only eligible voters can cast their vote and have that vote counted.
