As Election Day approached, the New Republic wrote about the persistent threats against election officials of misinformation and political violence, alongside the stringent security and integrity of our elections and beefed-up physical security measures in place.
Several election experts, including Kathy Boockvar, the former Pennsylvania secretary of state, described the proliferation of baseless claims during and following the 2020 election cycle, as well as the extensive efforts by election workers to share accurate information and ensure the safety and security of all voters, election workers, and operations.
“Do not fall for the rampant fake videos, false information, and conspiracy theories that are flooding all our social media channels—if you see something that seems unbelievable, it is probably because it should not be believed,” said Boockvar.
