Disbarment and other attorney disciplinary cases

Multiple attorney disciplinary actions have been progressing against attorneys who brought and pursued knowingly false claims related to the 2020 election. These resources help explain these circumstances and the status of the actions.

  • Rudy Giuliani:
    • An attorney disciplinary committee recommended Rudy Giuliani be disbarred for his dishonest, false, and calculated efforts to overturn the 2020 election results and undermine trust in elections. “He claimed massive election fraud but had no evidence of it,” the committee wrote, and in doing so forfeited his right to practice law and should be disbarred. This case is not final and is still subject to review by DC’s Board on Professional Responsibility and by the DC court of appeals.
