Stanford Internet Observatory – The 2020 Elections Oral History Project

The 2020 election placed election officials at the center of national attention in a way not seen in decades — if ever. This oral history project and report from the Stanford Internet Observatory captured the experiences of many election workers across the country and offered a path forward for healing and strengthening our democracy. This project shared the story of election officials in their own voices, these guardians of democracy who administered and secured the 2020 election, and, as a result, were the targets of unprecedented, baseless, and heinous attacks.
