Kathy Boockvar sat down live with CBS News the day after Election Day, joined by legal expert James Sample, delving into some of the baseless legal challenges brought before Election Day. Boockvar provided her perspective on how these challenges might evolve in the future and how much of the litigation that had been brought in the lead up to the election would continue since former President Trump was now the presumptive 2024 winner.
“It’s one of those million dollar questions, right?” Boockvar said. “I think we will probably see less of it pursued because the people who were bringing those challenges won most of the elections. So, I think the motivation is different than it was. However, I think we will see that most of that litigation will at least have some answer from the courts, which I think is important because, frankly, it was groundless.” She also noted that most of the courts and the local boards of election had already been throwing out the groundless challenges.
Boockvar also highlighted the critical role of election workers, calling them the “unsung heroes” of the electoral process for their unwavering diligence and commitment to ensuring every one of us can exercise our vote.
